Get Answers to Frequently Asked Questions Here

Our new members often ask us about stuff. Here are a few of our most frequently asked questions. If you don’t see your question below, don’t worry; simply  email us your questions.

  1. Are there different types of memberships?
Our primary membership is an annual FAMILY MEMBERSHIP, for $55.00.  The Primary Member, spouse and children under 18 are allowed to use the facility.  Only the Primary Member has voting privileges in Club matters.  Children who reach the age of 18 must get their own membership.

We also have a SENIOR MEMBERSHIP for $35 for those individuals that are aged 70 or older.

  2. Does my membership include a guest pass?
Guests are allowed as long as they are accompanied by the Primary Member. The Primary Member assumes responsibility for making sure guests follow all rules and safe practices.

  3. When are the Club Membership Meetings?
The Club Membership meets monthly on the first Wednesday of the month at 7 PM.  Dinner is usually served, for a fee, beginning at 6 PM, right before the meeting.
  4. How long is my membership good for?
Your Annual Membership is good from January 1st thru December 31st, with dues for the year due in January or before.  Dues MUST be paid no later than March 1st to remain in good standing!

  5. How do I pay my membership?
We only accept cash or personal check.  Contact Club President Richard Rice to arrange your dues payment (607-733-0107).  A Membership Application can be found on our “LINKS & DOCS” page.

  6. Can I cancel my membership?
Go ahead.  However, there are no refunds.

  7. Do you offer training classes?
Yes!  We have NRA classes with certified instructors for Basic pistol, shotgun, and rifle.  We are planning to have a defensive pistol class in the near future.  We also have some very fine shooters in skeet and trap that will work with members to improve their technique.  You can learn more about individual classes by checking out our “TRAINING” page.

  8. What should I bring for a shooting session?
Members bring a variety of items for their session, however, here are a few of our suggestions:

    • Your membership card.
    • Hearing protection – MANDATORY! – we do not provide this and everyone on the shooting range is required to have and use hearing protection.
    • Eye Protection – MANDATORY! – we do not provide this and everyone on the shooting range is required to have and use eye protection.
    • Firearms & Ammo – Firearms of your choice. We are not law enforcement, and do not check to be see if  your firearms are legal. We do reserve the right to ask members and guests to not use firearms or ammo that we think are unsafe.
    • Targets – Some targets are provided in the form of steel plates and we have backer boards for paper targets to be attached. You must bring your own paper targets. We do not allow shooting at items such as old electronics or anything with glass (like bottles or china plates, etc)
  9. When can I shoot?
Generally, our ranges are open from 8 AM until 10 PM, seven days a week!  The club facilities can be closed on occasion for certain special events.  Our Facebook page will notify if and when any of our ranges or our clubhouse will be closed.

  10. What are your range rules?
Range rules can be found on our “LINKS & DOCS” page.  Generally, the range rules are posted on each range.  Follow all posted range rules!
In addition, you may not shoot on any range when facility maintenance is being performed (mowing, repairs, etc) without first getting the permission of those persons doing the maintenance!
  11. Can I consume alcohol at your facility?
If you are an adult aged 21 or over, you may consume alcohol on our premises.  However, you may NOT consume alcohol before or during any shooting activity!
  12. How do I open the trap or skeet fields for use?
Only those members who have been trained and certified may open these fields.  See a qualified member to get training if you wish to open the fields yourself.  Under no conditions may anyone make any modification or “repair” to any clay target machine.  Report any problems to the contact number listed at the Shooter’s Shack.
  13. Is there a fee for using the trap or skeet fields?
Yes, a round of 25 clays cost $5.  You must supply your own shotgun and shells.
  14. I am a non-resident of New York State.  Is there a way that I can legally participate in your Open Pistol Shoots?
Yes, all of our Open Pistol Shoots are approved as NRA Special Events.  NYS allows an exemption for non-residents to participate in NRA approved Competitions.  You can download information on our NRA approval for Pistol events HERE.
